Media Chat Group

In all chat rooms, practice safe computing:

Remember persons in the chat room are anonymous.  We only know the name they are calling themselves.  Be sure to bear this in mind before sharing any personal information either in the chat room or with anyone in "one to one" message, exchanging email, IM, etc.

If you are new to chat you should be doubly cautious and be familiar with safe computing practices.  Don't accept files from strangers or answer questions from strangers (which is everyone)  Note also that tiny bits of information you talk about may be used to assemble personal information about you.  When in doubt speak in general terms especially if you are a new chat member.

The Legal Topics chat room:

1.  The chat room is open to all who wish to participate.

2.  Chat should be suitable for public discourse.

3. The Chat Facilitator is the sole judge of language, topics and any related issues.

The guidelines are designed in keeping with our primary mission -- to keep the chat room open and available to you!   Unlike ordinary chat rooms that demand you follow a long list of "rules" our goal is not to tell you what to say or what to think.  We invite you, welcome you, and keep the room open for your use.  If in some rare instance the chat is outside the guidelines, the Chat Facilitator will give you advice and help you in accordance with the policy.  Our goal is that no one ever be "banned" or excluded from the chat.  Although we must regrettably note that chat service can be denied at any time for any reason.  If it's ever necessary to "ban" or exclude someone from our chat rooms we consider it a failure.

Should you find that you have inadvertently caused yourself to be excluded from the chat room we are eager to help you be re-admitted without delay.  Simply ask the chat facilitator or fill out the form on the feedback page.  Include a simple statement that you have corrected the cause for the exclusion.

If you have any problems with the feedback page or contacting a facilitator, or have any questions or concerns please do contact Quality Assurance.

Thank you for all you contribute to the Chat Community®!
